What is on the Program?


We offer all of our guests a wide variety of experiences to choose from, ranging from mountain walks, morning stretches and a good selection of exercise classes all put together to give you the results you are after. To find out more, take a look at “The Program” on the Menu Bar above.

Is there a Spa at the Retreat?


Yes, at D-Toxd we have our very own Pascal Spa and throughout the week, on various days, we offer an exclusive selection of treatments for you to enjoy during your stay with us. On the Sunday after your arrival, one of our team members will go through the list of treatments with you and then arrange your appointments on the required days. A list of the treatments is sent out to you prior to your arrival so you will have an idea of what is available.
 
Can I book for more than 1 week?

Yes, you can book for more than 1 week and are welcome to stay as long as you choose provided that your arrival and departure days fit with our program, which runs from Saturday to Saturday.

 
How do I make a booking?

Booking can be made in 3 different ways. You can either book directly online via our Booking Software, where you will be able to select the dates of your stay and your chosen room. Payment is made by Debit or Credit Card and once these are submitted, we will then process the payment accordingly and a Booking Confirmation will be sent out to you. Or, you can either drop us an email with a telephone number and we will contact you to finalise the booking, confirming dates and your chosen room and taking payment. Or you can phone us direct, during our working hours, and your booking can be done over the telephone.

 
What are your office working hours?

At D-Toxd, we rely on a small team to make sure everything is taken care of and as such, no one role is dedicated to administrative duties. However, there is someone at the Retreat daily, who is able to help you, from 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs (Sunday to Tuesday) and 08.00hrs to 20.00hrs (Wednesday to Saturday) – please note that these are SPANISH TIMES. We aim to respond to every email received during those times within 2 hours and if emails are sent overnight, we do our very best to respond to them by 10.00am the following morning.

 
I am not 100% sure when I want to travel, can I still make a booking and confirm my dates later?

Yes, this is no problem. Payments are still subject to terms details and dates need to be confirmed as soon as possible. We cannot be held liable if there is no availability when requesting dates as these will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

 
Do I need to pay in full when I book?

For any Special Offers and/or Discounted Prices, payment needs to be made in full at the time of booking. All bookings need to be paid for in full if the arrival date is less than 6 weeks from the date of booking. If your travel date is further than 8 (eight) weeks away and you wish to pay in instalments, then in order to reserve your room at the Retreat a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required, however, a 10% Administration Charge is levied against the cost of the room to take into account the instalment payment. The balance will then be due 8 (eight) weeks prior to your date of arrival, however, we do recommend that payment is made in full at the time of booking. Upon receipt of any payment, a Booking Confirmation email will be sent out to you – please ensure that you check this for any discrepancies regarding rates, room type and dates of travel.

 
Can I pay in instalments?

Payment plans can be arranged, however, these are done on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to a 10% administration charge. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required for any instalment payments. Any balances not received risk losing the reservation at D-Toxd and any notification of late or delayed payment must be made in writing.

 
How can I pay for my stay?

Payment can be made either by bank transfer or over the phone by card. We accept most cards for payment at the Retreat. Just send us over a contact number and we will call to you to arrange for your payment to be made.

 
If I wish to cancel, can I get a refund?

There is a “no refund” policy on any Special Offers booked and paid for, however, these can be gifted to friends. Each deposit paid is a non-refundable booking fee. If cancellation is received more than 60 days before your arrival date then a full refund will be given minus the non-refundable deposit. A 50% refund will be given on cancellations between 45 days and 60 days from the date of your arrival, minus the non-refundable deposit. A 30% refund will be given on cancellations between 30 days and 44 days from the date of your arrival, minus the non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given on cancellations received 29 days or less from your arrival date, however, if this is the case, your stay can be gifted to someone else. Any and all cancellations for your stay at the Retreat must be received in writing and email is acceptable. No refunds will be given for any early departures or lack of arrival at the Retreat and any complaints must be lodged, in writing, prior to departure.

If I can’t make my original date, can I still move it around?

If you would like to change your booking date more than 6 weeks before the commencement of your stay, this is possible and is taken on a case-by-case basis, dependant on space available at the Retreat. However, if the change is made within 6 weeks of your stay, and administration charge of 100.00 euros will be incurred per booking, plus any difference in the new room rate (if applicable.) Again, this is dependant on space available at the Retreat and if a specific room has been booked, we cannot guarantee that it will be available.


Is travel insurance included?

No, travel insurance is not included in the price, and we ask that people arrange their own travel insurance for their stay with us.

 
Are flights included in the price?

Flights are not included in any of the prices and will be for your account.

 
What is the nearest airport to D-Toxd?

The nearest airport, from where we provide a Shuttle Service, is Alicante International Airport.

 
How long is the transfer from the airport to the Retreat?

Your transfer to the Retreat, if you are using our Shuttle Service, will take place in 2 parts. Our service provider will bring you to a local drop off point which takes approximately 50 minutes. One of our team will meet you and bring you up to the Retreat and the remaining drive will take about 30 minutes. In total, your transfer should take no longer than 90 minutes from airport to your home away from home.

Unless you get here by our ‘Private Transfer’ option, which will pick you up at the airport and take you up to the Retreat directly.

 
How do I arrange transfers?

Simple. All you need to do is let us know when you complete your Pre-Arrival Form which will be sent to you when confirming your booking. Once we get the flight details, we will make sure that everything else is taken care of and full instructions will be sent prior to your arrival with us.

 
How much is the transfer?

Transfers are complimentary, for all flights landing  between the hours of 9:00 and 17:00.

For flights landing outside of these hours, transfers can be organised for an additional charge of 150 EUR each way. This can either be paid for at the time of booking or else this will be included in your Final Bill presented for payment at the end of your stay with us.

What do I need to pack?

A full packing list of recommended clothing is sent to you a week before your travel dates and includes all items we deem necessary, however, this is also entirely up to you. We take a very casual approach at D-Toxd and our main aim is that you relax and enjoy your stay with us. Good walking shoes are required as some of our mountain walks are on rocky terrain and some of the exercise classes do involve a little bit of vigorous movement that would require decent quality trainers. Comfortable clothing is really all you need as it is up to you what you wear around the house. On a Friday evening, we do have a bit of a celebration so if you would like to dress up a little bit, we do encourage people to bring something “nicer” to wear for the Naya Fiesta.

What is the weather like?

According to the World Health Organisation, the area is blessed with the one of the healthiest climates in Europe. During January (our cooler month) the average temperature during the day is 17°C, with beautiful blue skies and slightly cooler evenings. Throughout the Winter period, temperatures during the day often reach 20° in the sun. The “biological” Winter only lasts 3 months in the region, and Spring starts with the spectacular flowering of the almond trees, providing a sea of blossoms in February. Summer brings much warmer and longer days, ideal for spending time in the sun and temperatures reach the late 20’s to early 30’s with much warmer evenings. The warm season runs (officially) from June to October, however the earlier months or April and May are very pleasant too. Autumns starts around October and runs through to December and temperatures remain around the mid-20’s during the day with slightly cooler, although very comfortable, evenings.

What is the accommodation like?

We have 8 spacious and comfortable rooms at the Retreat. Each one is fitted with sufficient storage, comfortable seating and facilities for 2 people. Each room is different and unique in its own way and we have done our best to provide you with a space to truly enjoy. All rooms have king size beds, suitable for either a couple or single occupancy. 4 of our rooms can have twin beds for friends wishing to share and if this is something you are interested in, please enquire at the time of booking and this can be organized. D-Toxd is laid out like a home and as such, there are a number of communal areas you are welcome (and invited) to enjoy during your stay.

Can I travel on my own?

Yes, in fact, most of our guests travel alone to our Retreat. Strong friendships and supportive bonds are created throughout the program and many guests have gone to return with their new found friends. It is a great way for single travellers to have an enjoyable experience.

Do you offer “strangers sharing” accommodation?

Unfortunately, we only offer this in 2 selected rooms and this is also subject to availability. Most people that have come to the Retreat have opted for their own space during their stay and as such, all of our rooms are sold on an individual basis and can be used as either a single or friends sharing / couple basis depending on which room is chosen.

 
Are there any sight seeing trips during the week?

At present, we do not do operate any sight seeing trips during the week. We have created a program (and an environment) to keep you occupied, as well as give you the well-deserved break that you need. Depending on the size of the group, a long walk is sometimes organized into one of the local villages, however, this is weather and group-size dependant. Should you wish to leave the Retreat, a taxi can be organized and there are a number of tourist spots to visit. If you are interested, please enquire with one of the team at the Retreat.

When can I arrive?

Our 7-day program runs weekly, from Saturday to Saturday and as such, we ask that all guests arrive and depart on these days. Check In times are from 15:00hrs on the day of arrival and on departure days we ask that guests please vacate their rooms by 12:00hrs. This gives us sufficient time to ensure the rooms are turned around. We ask that all guests do their best to book flights that arrive or depart mid-day to early afternoon – this will ensure that you are at the Retreat in time for our Welcome Dinner on Saturday evening. Should your flight arrive prior to check in time, or leave after check out time, we do have space to keep your luggage, as well as a communal bathroom and shower should you wish to prepare for your flight home.

If I can’t arrive on Saturday, can I still join the Retreat?

If anyone is unable to arrive on Saturday, they are more than welcome to book their room for a week and arrive on any day that they please, however, unless they were leaving on the following Saturday, they would not be able to depart mid-week the following week. We recommend that, in order to gain the best experience possible, all guests take part on our full 7-day program and as such, we do not recommend shorter stays.

Can children attend the Retreat?

We have an age limit of 16 for all of our programs.

What is the location of D-Toxd?

D-Toxd is situated in the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca, in the Sierra de Bernia approximately 10km from the village of Benissa and approximately 75 minutes from Alicante. The ‘Sierra de Bernia’ is a small mountain range that spreads about 20 km inland on the Costa Blanca and is an area that is untouched by mass-tourism and now mainly a nature reserve, providing the perfect location for a true Retreat experience.
